Slouchy Tote Bag

I have been practicing with my new sewing machine.  I wanted to try to make a tote bag with some material my mother-in-law gave me.  I used iron-on quilt batting between the outside and inside layers to make it quilted.  The strap is quilted, too.  I hot-glued some magnets inside the bag to keep it together so nothing falls out.  I had a lot of fun making it!  It was a lot like sewing a pillow case... a very shallow pillow case, but really; it was a lot easier than I thought it would be! I may make a few for some gifts to keep on hand.  Maybe add some more pockets next time.  Anyway, I'm pretty proud of myself =)

  3. This is so cute. I have some material to make a tote, but I'm a little afraid. Yours turned out so well I might just get brave enough to do it. Thanks so much for sharing at our Link It Up Thursday party.

  4. Thank you so much! It's a great bag to start with, and now I know I CAN do it, and I know what to change to make it better next time.
